How Does TMS work for Anxiety?

Comprehensive Mental Health Support for Anxiety

Anxiety can disrupt every aspect of life, making daily tasks feel overwhelming. It leads to persistent worry, fear, and physical symptoms like difficulty concentrating or restlessness.

TMS is not FDA approved for any anxiety disorder specifically, however the vast majority of our patients with anxiety experience significant improvement.  Dr Penner is constantly updating his knowledge of the literature surrounding specific TMS protocols for Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Social Phobia which has been evolving for decades.  Dr Penner will personally evaluate you, and customize your treatment based on your specific symptoms.  He will discuss the latest literature surrounding your particular condition and whether or not modifying your treatment may be beneficial..

Anxiety is not a one-size-fits-all condition, and neither is our treatment approach. We focus on understanding each patient’s specific experience with anxiety, whether it’s generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic attacks, or social anxiety.

Understanding the Needs of People with Anxiety

People with anxiety often struggle with constant tension, racing thoughts, and difficulty managing stress. These feelings can interfere with work, relationships, and overall mental well-being. At our clinic, we recognize that each person’s journey with anxiety is different.

We tailor our treatment to address individual needs, ensuring that care is customized for each person. By focusing on each patient’s unique experience, we’re able to develop a personalized plan that helps manage anxiety effectively.

Anxiety TMS

Unlike traditional pharmacological antidepressant therapy, TMS allows for the treatment of depression, without the associated unpleasant side effects, such as decreased libido, weight gain, and emotional blunting (inability to experience the full range of human emotions such as joy and happiness).

Personal Stories and Outcomes

Many of our patients have found relief from their anxiety through our specialized treatments. Lisa, one of our patients, shared: “I felt trapped by anxiety for years, but TMS helped me finally feel calm and in control.” We aim to provide this same level of care and relief to every patient who walks through our doors.

Our patients’ success stories are a testament to the effectiveness of our treatments. By addressing the root causes of anxiety, we empower individuals to move forward and experience a better quality of life.

Permanent Improvement

TMS has resulted in the only permanent improvements in my decades-long battle with [debilitating and suicidal] severe depression. I used FMLA and drove 4 hours 5 days a week for the 15-minute appointments. It was worth the time, fuel, and miles on my car. It changed my life.

Grateful for his vision and expertise

Dr. Penner did an excellent and amazing job of determining the best course of action for my treatment and was available when a course addition to my treatment was required. I am so grateful for his vision and expertise leaving me with great hope for my future life without depression or at the very least minimal depression symptoms! The technicians were professional and worked diligently to implement my treatments with precision.  They were also helpful in meeting my personal needs, allowing the treatments to be palatable. The front desk support was warm and welcoming and was helpful to assure that I had the essential information to be successful.

Knowledgeable and well-trained staff

Super polite and professional, a true sense of caring about your needs. Knowledgeable and well-trained staff. Great results. Can’t recommend enough. If TMS is something you’re considering, this is (in my opinion) the only place to go.

Fewer Symptoms

“I gradually started to feel fewer symptoms of my major depression. My anxiety wasn’t as big of a problem, but I noticed an improvement with general anxiety as well. I still am tired and sleep more than usual, but am functioning and interacting more with others. I have no more suicidal thoughts. It worked for me. Great staff.”

Definitely try it!

“My experience with TMS Treatment was very good! All the technicians did a great job. My depression and anxiety decreased by 60%. It was well worth it! Definitely try it!”

TMS has done more for me than my medication ever has.

“The first week the session was physically uncomfortable, but after that I started to notice a difference with my depression and anxiety. I feel that TMS has done more for me than my medication ever has. I am weaning off of my antidepressants and my anxiety goes away much quicker after a trigger. I feel the most normal I’ve ever felt since I was a child. It worked for me when nothing else did. It’s definitely worth trying.”

The TMS itself helped my depression.

“TMS was great! Everyone was so nice and lovely. They make such a sucky situation okay. The TMS itself helped my depression a lot. I am glad I was able to do this. I am happier and had only positives at Olympia TMS. It doesn’t hurt. Everyone listens and adjusts things to make it more comfortable. It’s worth it.”

The staff was very helpful and kind.

“I got treatment here for depression earlier this year. The staff was very helpful and kind. And while I don’t think it was the only factor, I was able to reduce my prescription dosage from 35 mg to 10 mg after treatment. Definitely worth a try if your insurance will help pay or you can afford the full cost.”

It has changed my life.

“It has changed my life as my anxiety and depression have decreased dramatically. My anxiety and depression are more manageable and I am interested in doing things again.”

It really helped me feel more like myself.

“I had a great experience and comfortable treatment. Christina was amazing and I want to thank her! I have less anxiety and depression for sure. Don’t hesitate to try this therapy. It’s easy, non-invasive, and it really helped me feel more like myself.”

Community Impact

The benefits of treating anxiety go beyond the individual patient. When someone overcomes anxiety, it positively affects their family, friends, and workplace. They are better equipped to engage in relationships, perform well at work, and contribute to the community.

We believe that by treating anxiety, we help build healthier, happier communities. This is why we are dedicated to providing long-term relief to our patients, allowing them to fully engage in the life they deserve.

Creating a Safe Environment

Our clinic is designed to be a safe, welcoming space where patients can feel relaxed and supported. We know how stressful it can be to seek treatment for anxiety, so we focus on creating an environment that promotes healing from the moment you step through the door.

We provide a calm, supportive atmosphere that helps reduce stress, allowing patients to focus on their recovery. From the first consultation to ongoing treatment sessions, our team is committed to making each patient feel at ease.
