Olympia Center for TMS & Psychiatry is an outpatient clinic focused on TMS treatment for depression, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment of injured workers.
Our clinic was founded by Dr. David Penner with the vision of providing high-quality mental health care tailored toward each patient.
Our Story
A Visionary Approach to Psychiatry
Upon establishing his practice, Dr. David Penner, a Harvard-trained, dual-certified psychiatrist, Dr. David Penner came to understand that the future of psychiatry included a focus on interventional techniques for treating mental health issues.
Recognizing the Limitations
After years of treating individuals in collaboration with other providers using traditional medication management, Dr. Penner observed the limitations of these treatments. He found that over the years, patients who found effective treatment options no longer needed his services. This left the practice largely frequented by patients still suffering from symptoms with little to no relief.
A Turning Point
Dr. Penner became increasingly dissatisfied with the lack of universal effectiveness and the side effects of medications that offered only partial relief. Over time, those who benefitted from straightforward treatments no longer needed his services, while others required more advanced medication management with diminishing returns.
Bringing TMS to Olympia
Realizing there was a better way, Dr. Penner was the first to bring TMS to the Olympia area, understanding the revolutionary results it provided. This new approach offered hope and relief to patients who had not found success with traditional treatments.
